All boiler manufacturers recommend servicing annually. The annual service will cover the following areas: The following checks will be made prior to the actual service:
Boiler installation commissioning documentation is present and correct. The oil storage and supply arrangements. Advice will be given on any action necessary to meet the Control of Pollution (Oil Storage) (England) Regulations 2001. The air supply to the boiler to ensure safe combustion The flue for safety and advice given on the need for sweeping Electrical safety including appropriate fuse rating and earth bonding.
The service will include: The heat exchanger(s) will be inspected and cleaned The combustion chamber will be inspected and cleaned. The pressure jet burner, electrical components, fans and motors and oil pump will be inspected and cleaned The pressure jet nozzle will be replaced. The flexible oil line(s) will be inspected and replaced if necessary (minimum every 2 years) The burner safety controls will be checked. The burner will be tested and air flow and oil pressure adjusted to restore performance to as close to the manufacturers specifications as possible.
Any debris will be cleared to ensure the client’s premises are left in good order. All necessary documentation (OFTEC CD/11) will be provided incorporating all test data and advice on those areas requiring attention.
